We had a busy but fun weekend. Abby and I headed to Chagrin Falls, the cute town I grew up in, for some mommy/daughter time while Connor was taking his morning nap. Our goal was to get me some coffee because Connor didn't sleep very well the night before which means I didn't sleep well. Abby decided she needed some chocolate milk from Starbucks, too, because she didn't sleep well either. We decided to head to the playground to burn some energy and stumbled upon the Chagrin Valley Arts Festival. Abby and I loved the kids craft area!! They had a booth where you could airbrush your own hat, a fan making area, an clay molding area, a paint your own figurine area, and a face painting area. It was hard for us to leave the fair, but we eventually had to head home to save poor Connor from starving. Connor is such a momma's boy and I love how excited he gets to see me after I have been away.
In the afternoon we all ventured out to a local dairy farm for their farm day. It was interesting to see how the dairy production happened, but it made us a little sad to see all of the cows in just a few barns being herded back and fourth from the milking parlour. Abby really enjoyed the playground at the farm. Connor just enjoyed being outside. I really enjoyed the kids going to sleep early after all of the fresh air!
Today we headed to the local farmer's market. I love farmer's markets and I think Abby might share my passion for them. It is still early in the season, but there was a lot of lettuce and some really yummy organic strawberries. We finished ours before we even left the market! We then headed to a local event called Knee High Naturalist. It was an event at the local metroparks for kids under 6 geared towards outdoor exploration. It was such a cool event. They had different stations set up for play and explorations, a hayride, puppet shows, crafts-including planting in an old shoe, organized hikes with Nora the explorer, kite flying and more!!! The only bad thing about the event was that it was from 12-4 which meant we only lasted for about half the time and then we had to head home for naps. We would have loved to stay and explore. The rest of the afternoon we spent relaxing at home and enjoying some down time after our busy weekend!

Debbie, it sounds like you always have such fun outings with your kids! Connor and Abby are as sweet as can be!
