Connor is One!

I meant to come back to this post months ago and talk about our big one year old, but moving and birthdays and holidays caught up with me! We had a wonderful time celebrating Connor's first birthday. He is such a sweet little man and we could not imagine life without him. He has the cutest little smile and is always flirting with strangers. However, he will not get near anyone but his mommy and daddy. He is such a mommy's boy and I really hope he never outgrows this!! Connor loves his green blanket which he snuggles with every night. This and his thumb is all he needs to be a happy little boy. He has so many new words now, but at his birthday he had a handful of words-ball, mommy, daddy, abby, B, woof woof, more, truck. We started the celebration at my sister's lake house in Apple Valley, Ohio. It is a beautiful house and Matt's mom, Nana, came in to visit so my sister was gracious enough to let us stay in her house for a few nights. We had a great time cooking meals, relaxing and swimming at the lake beach. We woke up there on the morning of Connor's birthday and he loved playing with his balloons and cuddling his big sis(which is actually pretty rare-he usually cries when she gets near him!). Then we headed to Granville to celebrate with family and the Reding family who have a son a few months older than Connor. To say that Connor LOVED his cake is an understatement. He literally stuch his entire face into the cake. He was so pleased with himself. He also enjoyed the fruit skewers we gave him when we finally dragged the cake away from him. What an adorable and sweet one year old we have. We are so thankful to have him in our lives!

Our little aritist

Who needs paper? Certainly not our Abby Grace!

Obsevatory park has a birthday!

Abby thought it was hilarious the other weekend when we decided to go to the birthday celebration for a local park. We told her there would be cupcakes and we would sing happy birthday to the park. She couldn't stop laughing at the thought of saying happy birthday to a park. The celebration was a lot of fun. They had a bubble making machine that Connor loved. They also had a group there called People for Kites that was giving away the cutest little kites that the kids could decorate and that flew impressively well. There was also a balloon man there and some fun kids games. We have fallen in love with the Geauga Park District and all of their activities. They do such a great job with their community outreach.

Why the sleepless nights are worth it!

Abby loves to play the air guitar!

Connor signs "more"

Connor loves his first pair of shoes

They make new friends and play in the sand for hours

They look so cute in their pajamas!

Abby got a haircut

Our little monkey loves getting her haircut. She is always asking if she can get a haircut and I don't think it is just for the lolipop. She loves looking in the mirror and making silly faces. She was ready to strike some poses when we got home!

Chagrin Metroparks Summer Concert

We had a great time heading to the Chagrin Metroparks for their summer concert series. This was the kids concert week and all of the songs were written for children. Before the concert there were games and fun for all of the kids. Abby had a great time entering the watermelon spitting contest, the water balloon contest and roasting marshmallows. Connor just loved eating the watermelon. I loved spending time outdoors with the kids and grandma and enjoying some fun music. Abby was also so pleased to win a water bottle in a treasure hunt. She found one of the plastic animals that had been hidden throughout the woods.

Thank you Nana!

Nana sent Abby and Connor some souvenirs from her trip to Sante Fe. They looked so cute in their shirts and did such a great job posing for pics. Abby also got some clothes that Nana made for her baby doll. We LOVE getting packages in the mail.
