Our fun-loving little girl

We are having so much fun with Abby these days. She is always surprising us with her imagination and creativity. She loves playing baby dolls and has a name for all of them. She likes to pretend she is taking them to all of her favorite activities. She is so sweet to her babies. She also loves to pretend she is cooking for us at her house and serving us food. She is such a joker. She likes to tease us and hide from us over and over again. The other day when my mom was coming into the room Abby said she was going to close her eyes so grandma couldn't see her. She is also getting really good at saying no to us and telling us what we should do. She likes to tell us she is the boss. She has such a great outgoing personality and is always making friends when we are out. We cannot believe how smart she is and how much she remembers. One of Abby's favorite activities in Ohio is preschool open gym at a local gymnastics place. I love it too because the gym is huge and the kids are aloud to wander around and get on all of the equipment. There is no formal instruction which is nice because the kids can just run around and be kids for an hour. It is inexpensive, too, only $5 for a family.
We love our little monkey so much.

7 Months Old

We can hardly believe it has been seven months since Connor was born. We couldn't imagine life without him. He is such a happy and easy baby. He has started eating solids and so far loves everything we have fed him. We have tried yogurt, pumpkin, applesauce, pears, avocado, sweet potato and some finger food. He is moving where he wants to go now, although we aren't sure if we can official call it crawling because he flings himself forward instead of moving his arms when he "crawls". He also loves taking baths and swimming and he doesn't mind going underwater just like his sister. Connor loves to cuddle his blanket-or B and goes to sleep so easily. This week he just started sleeping through the night. I wish I could say the same for me. I am still up anticipating his wake up. He is very ticklish and has such a great laugh. His favorite person to laugh for is Abby. He is also talking up a storm-saying DA DA DA DA. I am still trying to get him to say MA MA and Abby tries to get him to say ABA, but so far we have not been very successful. We feel so lucky to have such wonderful happy kids.

Caitlin's dance competition

We had a great time this weekend at our cousin Caitlin's dance competition. We left Columbus and our cousins Thursday afternoon after a weeklong visit. We even got to go to Michael's cool science/art exhibit open house. After the open house, Michael, Caitlin, and Emma put Abby to bed for me! What a treat. On Friday, our cousins headed to Cleveland. We met them at their hotel and had a great time swimming in their pool and eating pizza. Both Abby and Connor love being in the water. On Saturday, we saw Caitlin do her tap performance. She is such a talented dancer. Afterwards, we all went out to lunch before our cousins headed off on their Disney Vacation. It is really nice to be close to the Federer family so we have the chance to go to dance competitions or soccer games. I know Abby and Connor will be thrilled to have them come to their birthday parties and events.

D.C. Getaway

Happy Boy

Connor is the happiest boy in the world! We love his smile so much and he is always sharing it with us. He rarely fusses and is always offering a smile or laugh. He is really ticklish and I love giving him kisses all over just to hear him squeal. He even withstands his sister trying to ride him like a horse or play with his ears. We feel so blessed to have such an easy baby for our 2nd. He is still working on crawling and can move wherever he wants these days. He gets on all fours and does pushups but hasn't quite figured out how to move his arms to get to where he wants. Everyone who sees him in action will comment he will be crawling any day now. We aren't sure we are quite ready for that day!

I forgot to mention that the shiner you might notice in the pictures is in deed Connor's first black eye. He got it the other day playing on the floor. I had pillows behind him in case he fell backwards, but the boy managed to fall forward and hit his eye on the foot of Abby's American girl doll. He had a black eye for about two weeks. It is finally starting to heal. I think it made him look even more adorable and tough, too.

Our Sweet Cousins

Abby and Connor are loving all of the time we have been able to spend with our cousins in Ohio. As we continue our house search my sister and brother-in-law have been so generous with their space. I am pretty sure Abby now thinks she is part of the Federer family or maybe she just wishes she was. Her cousins have also been so great at sharing their toys with Abby and Connor. They also are always willing to carry Abby wherever she wants, give her whatever she wants, teach her whatever she wants to know, and tell her how wonderful she is all day long. I love it because I get a great break when we are with them. Abby is so happy playing with her bigger cousins. Connor also gets a lot of attention from his cousins. They are so sweet getting on the floor with him and trying to help feed him. We are so lucky to have such a great and loving family to help make our move a lot easier.

The Silly 2 1/2 year old

Parents take over!

Abby has agreed to let us, her parents, take over the blog for a little while. I want to make sure that I record all of the little things Abby and Connor do as they grow. This is one of my favorite pictures of our little turkeys. Abby loves to pretend that the couch is her car and that she is driving us all over town. We always bring our babies with us and sometimes Connor gets to come too. We usually go to the jumpy place, the swimming pool, music class, or to Tommy's for a milkshake. Abby's imagination really amazes me. She loves to pretend she is the teacher and leads us all in class. If we try to start leading a class or music class she tells us to be quite we are not the teacher! She remembers so much from the classes we take and makes a pretty good teacher. Connor is such a trooper and thinks his sister is the best. He is always smiling and watching her. We love these little guys so much and have so much fun playing with them every day.
