Our house

We are finally settling in and we are so ready to be in our house together as a family. Although we are still unpacking boxes and getting situated, Matt and I are thrilled to be together as a family. Abby is thrilled to have a pink room and Connor is just happy as usual! We love the house( although dream of someone coming in while we are sleeping and updating everything) and the yard is amazing with almost 2 acres. We are so grateful to my family for all of their help and for putting up with us crashing with them for so long!

Abby's birthday party

We had a small friends and family party for Abby at the local park in Granville. Abby wanted to invite all of her classmates in preschool, her cousins, grandma and grandpa and the Redings. It was a great day for a party and Abby's cousins were so helpful with the games. We had the kids paint pumpkins and eat a few snacks and then everyone played on the playground. Another birthday party success! We did miss celebrating with all of our good friends in Colorado.

Abby turns 3!!!

It is hard to believe our little monkey turned three on September 22nd. Abby has so much character and is always making us laugh. She loves cuddling and hates sleeping. She loves playing with her cousins, playing with babies and swinging. She still loves to eat and is ALWAYS hungry. She now has a love for gum and would chew it all day if we would let her. She is so creative and such a good storyteller. We think we may be seeing Abby on stage one day. She loves an audience and loves making us laugh. Her favorite activity is hiding from her daddy over and over again. Happy birthday to our sweet 3 year old.

Patterson Family Fun Fest

We went to the neatest fall festival. There were tree houses in the woods the kids could explore, big wooden slides, a corn maze, a playground of hay, pony rides and more. The weather was beautiful and it was a perfect day to spend time together as a family.

Chagrin Falls

I am not sure I appreciated the cute small town I grew up in when I was little, but now that I have kids, I love exploring it with them. We love playing at the plyaground and visiting the falls. We love feeding the ducks and playing at the library. It is such a cute small town with so much to offer for families.

Happy Birthday Grandpa

More fun with cousins

The kids are loving being near their cousins. Abby wishes we could move in and live with them forever!

Our first fracture

Connor fractured his wrist. We honestly have no idea when it happened. He fell a few times toddling around and then we noticed that he wouldn't put any pressure on his right hand or if he had to he would cry in pain. We decided to take him to the doctor after hours of this and sure enough after x-rays and hours at the doctor's office we were told he had a partial fracture. He was such a brave boy through it all, but did not like getting his splint put on. We have to keep it wrapped for as long as possible and try to keep him from falling-IMPOSSIBLE task for a busy toddler, but we will try our best.

Rasberry Picking

We had a great morning rasberry picking at a local farm. Connor and Abby loved the big red chair.

Abby starts preschool

Abby was so excited for her first day of preschool. She really wants to be a big girl like her cousins and in her mind school is the first step. She is going to a cooperative preschool in town which will be nice because we get to volunteer once a month and it will give us a chance to get to know the other kids and families.

Connor is One!

I meant to come back to this post months ago and talk about our big one year old, but moving and birthdays and holidays caught up with me! We had a wonderful time celebrating Connor's first birthday. He is such a sweet little man and we could not imagine life without him. He has the cutest little smile and is always flirting with strangers. However, he will not get near anyone but his mommy and daddy. He is such a mommy's boy and I really hope he never outgrows this!! Connor loves his green blanket which he snuggles with every night. This and his thumb is all he needs to be a happy little boy. He has so many new words now, but at his birthday he had a handful of words-ball, mommy, daddy, abby, B, woof woof, more, truck. We started the celebration at my sister's lake house in Apple Valley, Ohio. It is a beautiful house and Matt's mom, Nana, came in to visit so my sister was gracious enough to let us stay in her house for a few nights. We had a great time cooking meals, relaxing and swimming at the lake beach. We woke up there on the morning of Connor's birthday and he loved playing with his balloons and cuddling his big sis(which is actually pretty rare-he usually cries when she gets near him!). Then we headed to Granville to celebrate with family and the Reding family who have a son a few months older than Connor. To say that Connor LOVED his cake is an understatement. He literally stuch his entire face into the cake. He was so pleased with himself. He also enjoyed the fruit skewers we gave him when we finally dragged the cake away from him. What an adorable and sweet one year old we have. We are so thankful to have him in our lives!
