More South Pole pics!

Here's some more pictures of Deb's stay at the South Pole. She stayed in the summer camp during her stay which is pictured here. There's also some pics of the old station (the Dome) and all the boxes that Deb had to band up with our friend Jolene.

Pole Pic

Debbie's first picture of her time spent at the South Pole. There are more on the way I assure you. Deb spent a week helping the Waste Department retro all their trash back to McMurdo to be processed and sorted. Here she's at the "symbolic" South Pole marker with our friend Galen. The tin foil pieces are actually face impressions of some our friends so they too could experience the Pole. Debbie loved it there and despite -30 temps said the weather was quite nice. She worked outside everyday so she had to keep busy to stay warm. More pictures to come.

Antarctic Cyclocross

Last Sunday we had our cyclocross race through town. A grueling 2 mile course that included push ups half way through. No serious injuries were recorded and a total of almost 40 men and women raced. I didn't win but I think the mullet was feared!

Lots of work some fun and games

It's not all work here on station, we do have some fun. Here's Deb racing in the annual Turkey Trot usually held on the Saturday we celebrate Thanksgiving. Debbie took second in the women's under 39 category and was maybe seventh overall. She kicked some butt! Where was I you may ask? Too hungover to even get out of bed to cheer her on. Very lame on my part however I apparently had a fun night of dancing. Luckily there were no pictures to document it! This weekend I raced in the cyclocross race and I will post some pictures soon!
