Week Two Electric Boogaloo

Hi everyone, week two plus has been great. I'm still meeting lots of friends, catching some ZZZZZ's and hanging with Mom. The weather is getting cooler so I'm starting to rock my fall apparel, (note my kitty hat). Squeezed in a little tummy time and overall had a great week. I only get upset when I'm hungry or naked (my Dad seems okay with that!) Hope your doing well, can't wait to meet those of you I haven't met yet.

Meeting New Freinds

Abby has been very busy in her first week of life getting adjusted to the world and meeting a lot of new friends. We had a visit in the hospital from our friends Meg and Ellie and Matt and Jenna. Ellie was so great to bring Ellie her favorite lovey. It was nice to have visitors right away that were not poking and prodding her. Aunt Shay and Uncle Boris even drove down from Vail for a visit. We also had lots of family around, the Ott's and Boissy's(grandmas and grandpas and Uncle Jim) were so great to Abby and her parents during their stay in the hospital. Abby was sad to see Uncle Jimmy and Grandpa Ott leave, but she will get to see Uncle Jimmy again on his way back to Antarctica. When we got home Abby got to meet Uncle Lee and Krista as well as Katie W. She really liked Uncle Lee and he was a natural with the baby!!! We also had a visit from Aunt Lori all the way from Ohio. Although she could only stay 24 hours before she had to return home to her five munchkins, Abby really liked her and can't wait to see her again when we travel to Granville for Halloween. Our friend Connie from Antarctica came by for a visit and we hope Abby ends up being as adventurous as her when she grows up. Yesterday Abby went to her first birthday party for our friend Phil where she met all sorts of friends from Antarctica. Then we got to meet our Aunt Sarah and have another visit from our wonderful Doula Liza.

My First Stroll

Hi everyone, life is good, I sleep, I eat and I'm a celebrity and my Mom and Dad love me! I went for a stroll the other day. It has been so nice outside, I'll be hiking, biking and climbing in no time. My first doctor's visit went well and I'm just enjoying my new surroundings and meeting new people. Here's a few pics from my first jaunt outside.

Waiting For a Friend

Hello everyone sorry it's been so long posting pictures and providing updates on the blog. I will continue to try and update Southern Mclovin more often now that a third member will be joining the Mclovin crew soon! Debbie and I are excited for our new buddy to arrive. September 20th is the due date and we still do not know if we have a boy or girl on the way. I believe either way it will be a ninja in the future. Hope you are all well and can't wait to share some new pics and adventures with everyone.

Almost done!

Here are some pics of the Tern the cargo ship we've spent the last week unloading and loading with cargo and a Norwegian Icebreaker that helps escort the Tern through the channel to our base. Only a few more days left! Deb and I are anxiously awaiting New Zealand as the temps have dropped below 0 degrees. We'll be spending around a month in New Zealnd before heading home. Looking forward to catching up with everyone!

Saturday, January 26, 2008

Hello everybody, sorry to have slacked on the posts of late. There always seems to be a lull in the action come January after all the holiday festivities. I guess it's the same back home. We are starting to get ready for some traveling and thoughts of leaving are creeping in. We have been busy of late as the ships that deliver fuel and cargo to the station are approaching our ice pier. However last weekend there was a marathon and 1/2 marathon run and ski for the station. The weather could not have of been better for the runners and skiers. I volunteered for the race and drove a Piston Bully (the red vehicle here) out to the start of the 1/2 marathon. I figured by volunteering Debbie couldn't trick me into racing! Deb was going to run but was called out to a spill the night before and was on call during the race but I know she would of ran well. Jim, Deb's bro,did great in the half marathon.
I will post some pictures of all the ships that dock at station, last year they took people out into the channel and people took pictures of whales and penguins so hopefully we will get a chance to participate this year. We have seen some Minke Whales in the water near our station so we will try to get some pictures in the next few weeks.
