Happy St. Patty's Day!

This weekend my mom and dad took me to my first parade. It was a St. Patty's day parade with tons of Irish dancers and bagpipes. We went with our friend Julie and we even got to take a train ride to get to the parade. It was a lot of fun and there were so many kids to watch at the parade. After the parade we met our friends Jenna, Matt and Maura for lunch. I love babies and I even got to hold baby Maura in my lap-isn't she cute? My mom told me we are Irish and that grandma's maiden name is Flanagan.

The parade was so much fun, but I think it wore me down a bit. On Sunday my throat started to hurt. I really didn't feel like playing much either. My nana came to visit me from Ft. Collins and I was able to have a little bit of fun playing with her. After she left though, I remembered how much pain I was in and I wasn't able to get any sleep that night. My mom took me to the doctor on Monday and she said that I had a virus infection. The doctor said that I had a lot of blisters on my throat. No wonder it hurts so much. It was a pretty miserable few days, the only good thing about being sick was that I got to eat as much ice cream that I wanted because it was the only thing that I could manage to swallow. My mom said maybe I got sick when I got kissed on the lips twice by an older boy on the playground Friday. My dad said that I am not aloud to kiss any boys besides him!

Today was St. Patty's day and we started to watch another little boy named Caidyn. His mom teaches with my dad at school. I think he had fun playing with all my toys, but I think he was a little sad because he missed his mom and dad. Daddy stayed home today to recover from a few days of no sleep and to help mommy watch both of us. Overall, it was a fun day and I am finally feeling better. I was even able to eat real food, no ice cream today! Mommy and daddy say that I am getting really smart and learning so many new words. They keep saying that they have to watch what they say because I keep repeating everything they say.

It has been a little while since we updated my blog, but it is only because we have been busy! We found out that I am going to be a big sister!!! Mommy is growing a baby in her belly that will be born in August!! We are all really excited. Mommy and Daddy think I will be a great big sister because I really like taking care of my babies. Mommy has decided to put nursing school on hold until after the baby is born which makes me happy because now we get to spend more time playing together! I have also been very busy learning new words and transitioning into toddlerhood. My favorite word is probably no (or maybe daddy) and my parents say they hope they can survive my toddler years. I love to climb things and explore new things every day. I have also become a great eater. My favorite thing to eat is pasta, daddy says it is because I am Italian. I also have so many new words. I like to say sorry, please, oh geez, hannah, george, up and down, book, rosies rosies-for ring around the rosies. My parents always ask me if I am daddy's girl or mommy's girl and of course the answer is always daddy's. Daddy is much more patient when I wake up at 530 or 600 in the morning. I also got my first haircut on Valentine's Day. I think my hair was driving mommy crazy because I wouldn't let her put anything in it so she finally convinced daddy to let her get it cut. I got to sit in a taxi car while they cut my hair and when the lady was done cutting it she gave me stickers and a lollipop. My mom posted some pictures above!

Sixteen Months Today!

Today I turned 16 months old!! Mommy and Daddy keep saying they can't believe how fast I am growing. We have been so busy lately with the holidays and traveling to visit mom's childhood friends, the Murphy's in D.C. and my cousins in Ohio that we have had no time to blog. We had a great holiday and I even got a brand new kitchen set all for me. We spent the holidays with nana and poppop, Aunt Shay, Boris, Aunt B and Uncle Fred. My grandma from Ohio also flew in Christmas day to see me so it was very exciting. On New Year's day, my mom and I flew to D.C and we had a great time visiting the Murphy's. I got to see my boyfriend Carter and cousin Gabi. We had so much fun taking baths together and having lots of dance parties. Then a few days later we flew to Ohio where I got to spend the week with my cousins. We also had a fantastic time playing. I really liked the playtents they had and all of their toys. It was a special treat when I got to go in to my cousin Nate's preschool class for share day-he told his friends all about me. I really liked all of the attention. We also had fun playing in the snow together when my cousins had a snow day. I even got to be a part of my cousin Emma's baby play group one day!!!

My mom and dad are very proud of me as a 16 month old. I have a handful of words that I can say now, some of them are doggie, mommy, daddy, cat, hat, more, eat, up, book, ball, nose, mouth, egg, milk, bottle, hi, bye, baby, duck, goose, help, abby, and some more that I can't remember now. I know my mommy and daddy's favorite word that I say is please! I try to remember to use it as much as possible because it makes them smile. I am getting some of my bottom molars this week so I have had a hard time sleeping in my bed. I would much rather cuddle with mommy and daddy! I am as busy as ever and I love being chased and tickled. We are still so lucky to live in the neighborhood that we live in. We have so many good friends my age and there is always someone around to play with. My mommy and I are still doing gymnastics class, too, and I really like my teacher Miss Brenda. I would say things are going pretty well for this sixteen month old!

Holiday Fun

It has been a long time since my mom has posted an update and there have been so many fun holidays in between. My mom and I travelled to Ohio for Halloween to visit my cousins. I had so much fun trick-or-treating in Granville and playing with my cousins. They were so nice to me even though I was a little cranky from not sleeping so well while we were there. We flew back to Colorado in time to trick-or-treat in Platte Park with my nana so I was able to get twice the amount of candy. It was great! I did get a little sick on the trip home so my mom and dad kept me away from all of my friends on Halloween, but we still had a great time.

We also had a great Thanksgiving with my grandma and grandpa from Ohio. I really liked the turkey and the cranberry sauce, but am not a huge fan of potatoes. My daddy really wants me to like them though, so I am sure we will keep trying.

The weather in Denver has been really cold and snowy. My mom and I are going a little stir crazy around the house, but luckily I don't mind playing in the snow too much. We also have so many great friends in the neighborhood to play with.

This past weekend my dad, mom and I went to the forest and picked out our very own Christmas tree. We got to cut it down and everything. It was so much fun. We were hiking around in the snow and we saw lots of horses and dogs and other kids. We are pretty sure we got the perfect tree. After we picked out our tree, we headed to the volunteer fire department where we got to see Santa. I am still not so sure about sitting on his lap, but he doesn't seem like a bad guy. I have the picture of me, my mom, and dad on his lap on my nightstand now. It is my absolute favorite thing to look at. There was a chili fundraiser there and we were able to get in the fire trucks. This was my favorite thing to do. I even got a junior firefighter sticker.

Wow!! No wonder we haven't had time to update the blog, we have been too busy having fun!
